Hi I'm Bonnie!

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) when I was 16 years old. This was the best decision of my life.

About Me

I grew up in Ohio and, after graduating from high school, flew out west to attend University of Utah and then Sherwood Music School in Chicago, Illinois. I am the only member of the church from my immediate family; however, my husband and family are members of the church. All three children have been married in the temple and are strong, active members. I teach music full time, direct church choir and sing with the Seattle Symphony Chorale. Church, family, friends, teaching, and enjoying good music, has truly enriched my life for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth, I always felt close to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father through prayers. When I was 15 years old, the L.D.S. missionaries came to my family in Ohio and introduced the gospel of Jesus Christ to us. I was unaware of the Mormon church and knew nothing about it, other than listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir records as a young girl. When hearing the message about the Plan of Happiness, I knew without a doubt what I was being taught, was true! I knew of its truthfulness the very first session with the missionaries. Even though my family did not continue with the discussions, I was passionate about wanting to learn more. My father and mother wanted me to be sure I knew what I was doing before agreeing to be baptized into the church. After much study, pondering and prayer, I knew for a certainty that the gospel of Jesus Christ was true. So many of my questions I had relating to who was I and why was I on the earth, were answered! My parents then supported my decision to be baptized at the age of 16. I have been active in the church ever since that date. Our children are all raised in the church and now their children are being raised in the church. I am so grateful to know the purpose of life, who I am, where I came from and where I want to go in this and the next life. Having this knowledge helps to guide my daily choices and goals. I continue to experience much joy in my life as a result of joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am grateful to have the knowledge that Jesus is the Savior of the world and, through his example, I can be with my family, forever. I am so very grateful to be a "Mormon".

How I live my faith

Through the many years as a member of the church, I have been given opportunities to serve in many callings which have enriched my life. I have been a teacher for different grade levels of youth, teen-agers and adults. I had the privilege of teaching high school gospel seminary class for many years, along with being in numerous leadership positions which have helped develop my teaching and speaking skills over the years. I now work in the women's organization as the Visiting Teaching coordinator and music director of the church choir. Serving in the church has always been enjoyable and a great part of my (and family) life. It is pure joy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I encourage you and your family to learn more about the church to help bring peace, joy and stability to your lives as it has to mine. May God bless you to continue searching for truth and happiness.
