Hi I'm Laura

I’m a wife, a mother of five, a tri-athlete, a volunteer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook, host dinner parties, play volleyball, and be a full-time mom. I love to spend time with my kids and go on dates with my husband. I enjoy running and recently participated in my first triathlon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I remember just “knowing” from a very young age that God was my father and that he was aware of me and loved me. I grew up in a large family. I’m the oldest of 10 kids. Family togetherness was a huge part of my life. I have always appreciated the church’s firm stand on the importance of family and it’s place in Heavenly Father’s plan. I love The Family: A Proclamation to the World. As a wife and mother, I devote much of my time to teaching and nurturing my family. I am grateful to know that if I live worthily, I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

My family and I are very active in church. Each month, I help to plan and carry out a meeting for the women. Our focus this past year has been on self reliance. We have had classes and learned many new skills such as laundry soap making, budgeting, couponing, mental health, personal safety, exercising, etc. It is fun to plan the activities and participate with the women at church. We are such a diverse group and gain so much strength from each other. I also enjoy being able to substitute for the children’s classes occasionally on Sundays. It is fun to watch them learn the gospel and see how it changes their lives. I am grateful for the programs the church has for the youth. They help them to have direction and great leaders to mentor and care about them. I also enjoy being able to volunteer at my kid’s schools and serve on my Homeowner’s Association Board.
