Hi I'm Jodie

I'm a wife and mother of four. I enjoy the outdoors and being with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four children (three boys and a girl) ranging in ages from 10 to 16. I have an amazing, supportive husband who helps in the responsibilities with the family. I am a stay-at-home mom and have enjoyed this for 17 years. Before I had children, I worked as a dental assistant in Utah and Arizona. My parents are both alive and well and have helped shape me to become who I am today. My mother survived a brain aneurysm 9 1/2 years ago. She is a modern-day-miracle and I embrace the life that she is able to live. I'm grateful she is still with us today, as the doctors gave her a 1% chance to survive. I enjoy making cards and decorating cakes. A brand new baby brings me great joy. I served a mission for our church in the New Mexico, Albuquerque mission. I enjoyed sharing the gospel with many wonderful people while serving there. I love living in Colorado! The beauties of nature that surround me are awe inspiring. Above all, I love spending time with my family. We love to camp, hike, fish, bike, play games and just be together.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, with my parents being members. When I was younger I didn't realize the full blessings of the gospel in my life. Now that I am older, I see the impact it has had in my life for good. When I decided to serve a mission, I really had to do some soul searching to know for myself if the gospel of Jesus Christ is true or not, especially since I was going out to teach people what I believed. Through prayer and study, it was confirmed to me that this is our Savior's true church. It's not something that can be told, but a feeling and a confirmation that must be felt. I have grown so much over the past few years and have seen many miracles in my life. Through the Holy Ghost, we can be guided and directed in all aspect of our lives. It is because of the great love our Father in Heaven has for us that he has created His plan. Perhaps one of the greatest blessings in my life is the knowledge of being with my family for time AND eternity, not just here until death do us part. Seeing how much I respect and love my family, this is a comfort and a blessing to me. How blessed I feel to be a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have the privilege of teaching the youth (ages 14-18). Every morning before school (6:30am Monday through Friday) these amazing young men and young women get up and go to a religion class we call seminary. This year I am teaching the Seniors at the high school my boys attend. It has blessed my life immensely to watch the youth grow in their testimonies and understand the important concepts of truth in the scriptures. The study that I have done the past two years and the teaching I continue to do has increased my love for the Savior and His gospel. I try to be a good example in all that I say and in all that I do. To become more Christlike is a goal of mine. Every day I see the blessings in my life all around me. Oh, yes, I have bad days and sometimes health issues make life complicated but I try not to get down or discouraged because I know it is all a part of God's plan. His plan is for everyone.
