Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Southern California and now live in Arizona. I'm a husband and father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to the same woman for over 30 years. She's an amazing person and the best thing I have going for me. Together we've raised six wonderful kids, 4 of whom are married now to great spouses and they're all happy working on their education, careers and building their families. We also have 3 grandchildren and I'm sure more to come. I've worked in the financial services business for 30 years. I hope to be able to retire some day and enjoy my grandkids but for now, I'm content with the occasional game of golf, hiking, biking and attending as many sporting events as possible. I mostly enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. My mom came from a long line of Mormons but my dad was a convert so he was pretty strict. I was proud of who I was but definitely had a rebellious streak in me. I made some bad choices as a teenager and was headed down the wrong path. I went away to college and while I was on my own I finally realized that God loved me and I loved Him. I wanted to live my life better and share what I had with others. I decided to go on a mission. I really learned to love the German people. Now, many years later, I have an amazing wife, six incredible children and 3 grandchildren. I know I've been blessed because of the good choices I made. Recently, I lost my job and it's been really difficult financially. It's made me think hard about what's important in life. It's not to make a lot of money or to have a bunch of toys or to retire in the lap of luxury. I've realized that my purpose in life is centered around my family, my belief in God and helping others. Ultimately, that's all that matters!

How I live my faith

I try to go to church every week, visit members of the ward on a regular basis, work with the youth and support my wife in her church calling. I also help out occasionally in the Boy Scouts program. I enjoy serving in the temple and doing genealogy work. Recenlty I've met some of my father's cousins back in the Midwest. They are not members of the church but also enjoy family history and it's been fun comparing notes. My mom is getting up there in years so I try and help her when I can too.
