Hi I'm Jason

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 beautiful girls. I served in the U.S. Navy for almost 10 years and decided I would like to spend more time with my family and separated from the service in 2007. Now I am a Service Engineer and still travel just not as frequently. I am active in the scouting program and love the outdoors. My time is mostly spent with my family though. Three daughters, and two dogs both female have me surrounded but I enjoy every minute of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was partially raised in the LDS faith. My mother was a member of the church and my father attended church with us but was never really a full member. Growing up we sporadically attended church. As a long story shortened, my parents divorced while I was young and my mother remarried and we moved to a very small town in Texas. This time she married someone who was a member but we still seldom attended church. An elderly couple who knew us soon started taking myself and my siblings to church. I can't say that I grew up in the church but I did know of the church. My attendance while growing up was not that great but I did learn of the church. It actually wasn't until I joined the Navy that I actually really started to be a member of the church. I realized after not serving a mission and some missteps in the Navy that I really needed to get my life in order. I knew I had to turn to the Church. I started by reading the Book of Mormon and prayed in earnest about it. I received an answer in that I needed to start living righteously and I would find those things in life that would make me happy. After only a few months of getting my life in order and much repentance, my life's dreams were answered, I found my future wife at a church dance and within a year had started a small family. I realized that all through out my life whenever I did as I should and when my life was lived in accordance to Heavenly Father's plan, things in my life would just work out. I believe that Christ is my savior, he has saved me many times before, and through his atonement I have been forgiven much. I also believe that because the Book of Mormon is true. I have received many answers through it and without the Book of Mormon and the Scriptures my life and my soul would be lost.

How I live my faith

I participate through the scouting program. Not having sons of my own, I on occasion need to find some male bonding time and I am able to do that through scouting. I love to camp and to explore the great outdoors and what a great time to be able to do that then when in the scouting program. Leading the youth is a challenge at times and can be very frustrating. It can also be very awarding when you see the object lessons that are taught. Service through scouting and serving other members of the church in various aspects has been very challenging yet more rewarding than I could have imagined.
