Hi I'm Stephen

I'm a husband, father, aerospace engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have five boys, one girl, four grandchildren and a wonderful wife. I enjoy working as an engineer for a large airplane manufacturing company. I enjoy traveling, especially with my wife. I met my wife in a dance class my first day of college. My father always said it was the best class I ever took. I have been involved in Boy Scouts much of my life. I went to the World Jamboree in Norway in my youth and I'm a Scoutmaster now. My father-in-law, wife and I took our children on two 50 mile hikes on the Pacific Crest Trail when they were young. Most the time though I've spent at home with my kids where they have turned into computer geeks. My family has had our share of broken bones and other problems but I've learned that the Lord will always be there for us if we just ask.

Why I am a Mormon

My father heard about the church when he was about 20 and rode his motorcycle from California to Utah to learn about it. My mother grew up in the church. I was raised in the church. I have always had a testimony of the truthfulness of the church. The gospel has always made sense to me and I've been able to feel the Holy Ghost whenever I'm doing what's right. It is wonderful to know that Christ lives and that He suffered and died for everyone so that we will not have to pay the penalty for our sins if we will just accept His atonement and do our best to follow his teachings. We are all God's children and He wants to save us all. He points the way but will not force anyone to follow Him. This is Christ's church. It is named after Him. He personally leads it with prophets and apostles just like his church was led anciently.

How I live my faith

I currently help teach the 12 and 13 year old boys at church and serve as their Scoutmaster. The boys I work with are wonderful kids who really want to do what's right. Dealing with such good boys makes being a Scoutmaster easy and usually enjoyable. I try to be an example of Christ to others. I don't always succeed but I do my best. The most important thing in my life is being a good husband and father. Everything else I do comes after that in importance to me. I really wish I could do better in sharing the gospel with others. I am always willing to discuss the teachings of the church with anyone who asks.
