Hi I'm Trent Powell

I am a father of 4 married to the girl of my dreams. I help manage a plastic machine shop and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 9 years and am a father of 4. My wife and I met while attending High School and were reunited after I served a mission in Nicaragua from 1998-2000. After we married we decided we were going to wait 2 or 3 years before having children but that only lasted a few months before we changed our minds. We were lucky enough to start our family with twins so the next two children were a little easier. I have lived with my family in the same general area since I was 17. Both of our families live within several miles and we love to visit them for family dinners each Sunday. I have been selling or managing a sales team the past 12 years and love working with people. It is always fun to meet someone new, learn about their background and form new relationships wether at work or home.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and extended family have always been very active members of the LDS faith. While being raised it was always taught we were commanded by the Lord to serve a full time mission for two years upon turning 19. Without the blink of an eye I left for my mission in Nicaragua at the age of 19. It was until a few months after I left did my testimony of the Lord's gospel truly flourish. I was lucky enough to leave our blessed USA and live in a third world country. It was very humbling to live with the people, to teach the people, to cry with the people to become like the people in Nicaragua. While being immersed in the teaching the gospel of our Saviour I was able to act upon every worthy thought and help others. More than helping others I was able to strengthen my testimony that our Saviour lives. I know Jesus Christ died for me. I know it is through his atonement I am able to be forgiven for my sins. After returning from my mission and marrying I can now see how important the teachings of Christ are from a different perspective now that I have the challenge of raising my children to be like him. I have seen many miracles in my life and felt the comfort of the Holy Ghost during our most challenging times. I know the more we try to help others and live our lives to please Christ the more blessed we will be and the more happy we will naturally become.

How I live my faith

For the past 9 years I have been lucky enough to have callings in the church surrounding the youth. I have been a teacher for the Scout Organization or in Sunday school from ages 12-17. I currently serve as a primary (a gospel class for children under 12) teacher for the ages of 6 and 7 year olds. It is amazing what one can learn from the purity of a child. I also am a Home teacher with the challenge of ensuring several families from my congregation hear the Prophets message he sends to the world each month as well as all needs are being attended. You never know who is watching you so it is important to live your faith not only on Sundays but each and every day. I do my best to read the Bible and Book of Mormon frequentyly and to help others at all times. I love trying to help others through difficult situations by sharing my testimony and experiences.
