Hi I'm Sonia

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I wasn't born Mormon, but I am now. I knew I had found a home in this church.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I wasn't born Mormon, but I am now. In my teenage years, I found out about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from missionaries that came to our door. My dad listened to them and invited them to come back. I wasn't that interested at first, but after some time, I realized that God is my Heavenly Father and loves me. He wants what is good for me. When I listened to that message in my heart, I knew I had found a home in this church. That's why I'm a Mormon. Since that time when I made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and follow Christ's ways, I have had life experiences like many others. I have gone to college, got married, had children, worked full time outside of the home and tried to make ends meet. Through it all, I have learned that it all comes down to love. God loved us so He sent His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ loved us so He died for us. We are here to love others. We start with our families. Learn to love these people that come into our lives, forgive them, help them, offer kindness to them. That is what Christ did to all He met. Life gets so busy for us all...We must take time to do the things that matter most.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church teaches its people to follow Christ and live and learn His ways. The church has a worldwide organization which leads and guides its people in an ever increasing evil world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by talking to my heavenly Father in the quiet moments of prayer, but also in the crazy loud moments when the kids are fighting and I am praying for strength to be a good mother. i live my faith by thinking of others as children of God, even when they do not agree with me or even hurt me. I live my faith when I speak a kind word rather than a harsh or insensitive word. I live my faith when I care for my children and hug them and tell them they are children of a Heavenly Father who loves them. I live my faith when I tell myself the same thing and do not let discouragement or despair get the best of me.
