Hi I'm Joel

I love the outdoors. I'm a husband and father to four children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an outdoors person. I really enjoy getting away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. I love to go camping and exploring with my family and friends. I love playing and watching sport and also enjoy a good movie every now and then. I play basketball and tennis regularly and also enjoy bike riding and running. I enjoy the water and being able to teach my kids about the beach and the surf. I really enjoy wakeboarding and the freedom that it gives me as it's just you and the water. I'm married to my best friend and we have four children. Just about everything I do is centered around my family. We do a lot together which I really love. I get a thrill out of watching each of the kids develop their personalities and learn as they grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I born and raised a Mormon. Although I was born into the Church I wanted to know for myself whether what I was being taught was true. I have had so many experiences throughout my life that have confirmed to me that the Church is true and that there is a real purpose to life. These experiences have come in small waves of spiritual learning where I have realised that there is a God that watches over me and wants the best for me. Living by what I know to be true has given me a real focus on what's really important while I'm here on earth. This is being happy and living life the best way I can, helping others and raising a family. Don't get me wrong, I have made plenty of bad choices throughout my life but I know that I can learn form these mistakes and ask God for help. If we base our lives upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and follow His example we will be much happier. If we do our best while here on earth the blessings of living with God and Jesus Christ in the eternities will become a reality.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to be surrounded by wonderful people who have influenced me greatly. When I was a young I looked up to others for guidance and advice. Now that I'm a little older I can now help those younger ones who need some direction in their lives. The Church has provided so many ways for me to be of service to others. I have worked with the youth of the Church and seen so many of them achieve so much. Our Church is very focused on being their for one another and helping where we can. I have many friends with similar values that are a strength to me through the good and bad. Everyone experiences pain and misery throughout life but it's how we deal with it that determines our happiness. We need to have faith and hope that we'll get through the tough times and just never give up. The Church has taught me that knowing something is valuable but acting upon it is priceless.
