Hi I'm Barbara

I grew up in Arizona. I work for the government and just finished my graduate degree in Administration. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an administrator for a government agency that regulates personal conduct of judicial officers who serve in our courts. The work we do is important because it helps protect to integrity of the judicial system. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, which now includes five beautiful grandchildren ages six and under. One of my greatest accomplishments in life has been raising four wonderful children with my husband. After our children were grown, I returned to school and while continuing to work full-time, I completed my under graduate degree in Criminal Justice Administration and went on to complete a graduate degree in Administration. I enjoy reading and writing and being actively engaged in the service of others.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been an active member of the LDS church since my baptism in 1976. Joining the church was an easy decision for me, but very hard for my parents to accept. The Gospel has been a blessing to me all of my adult life. I am a Mormon because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith is true. I believe without doubt that God has always spoken to his children through his prophets since the beginning of time, and he continues to speak to us today through our modern day prophets. I know God loves us and wants us to have all that he has, just like I as a parent want my children to have all that I have. Heavenly Father is a loving God. He wants us to be happy so he sent his son, Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world and the beacon who shows us the way.

How I live my faith

Being an active member of the church is a way of life for me. I love serving others. I have worked with children and young teenagers and enjoyed teaching them about the Gospel and how much our Heavenly Father loves them and wants for them to live good lives. In my work, I strive to treat everyone I meet with respect and kindness. As a convert to the church, I was attracted to the way the members lived their lives, the family relationships were stronger, children were more obedient, and parents were more involved and interested in their children. These were important issues for me when I contemplated my future as a wife and a mother. I grew up in a good home, but not a loving home. I wanted to raise my children in a good home and a loving home, and in order to do that, I needed the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.
