Hi I'm John.

I am a mechanical engineer. I have studied the physical laws that govern mechanical engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and a father of two young children. I speak Portuguese and I enjoy spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that God uses His perfect knowledge of the physical laws of the universe to accomplish his goals. I believe that true religion answers the question of who created the Earth, while science attempts to answer how He created it. I believe that all commandments of God are designed to bring us happiness, and that each is based on the laws and principles that govern the universe. Every single commandment of God is based on either physical law or principle whose consequence of obedience is greater freedom and happiness. By keeping the commandments of God, we show our love for God and our fellow man. When we break commandments of God, the consequences are dictated by the laws that govern the universe, but we can receive forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ. He paid the price of sin when he suffered in Gethsemane and on the cross, and through his atonement, each of us can be purified—washed clean of our sins, allowing us to find true happiness in this life, and return to the presence of God after this life. I’m an engineer and a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I serve others by being a home teacher. I visit two to three other families each month to share a gospel message and look after their unique needs and concerns. This help might be doctrinal or it might be practical. I also serve others as a librarian at our meeting house on Sundays. I do all that I can to help and support the teachers as they prepare lessons and materials for their classes.
