Hi I'm Calvin

I am a pianist and a cellist. I love to swim and pole vault. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young man of nineteen years. I recently graduated from high school. I am serving a mission in Mexico City. Through my life few things have become part of who I am. One of those things is music. From the time that I was a baby music has been part of my life. I have been singing in choirs and music groups since I was six. I began playing the cello when I was nine. When I turned fourteen I started to play the piano. I can easily sit down and play the piano or cello for hours on end. Another thing that has become a major part of my life is sports. I started swimming when I was three. From there I joined swim teams and enjoyed every minute I had swimming. I enjoy a good hard workout. There is a satisfaction that comes when you finally accomplish something that you have worked for months to accomplish. I enjoy all sorts of physical activity. In high school I trained to be a pole vaulter. I also discovered the joy of workng out. I enjoy running, swimming, lifting and anything else that requires athleticism. Along with sports and music I have enjoyed learning. Whether in school or or out of school I just love to learn. In college I am hoping to study mechanical engineering and then afterwards to continue on to medical school. In the end I am hoping to become a cardiologist. With my career I hope to be able to serve and help those who need it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I grew up in a family that was centered around Christ. My parents told me stories of Jesus for as long as I remember. The time came when I could no longer rely on my parents for direction and guidance. I needed to know for myself whether or not this church was true. Over the course of two years I grew to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I learned for myself that this is the true church of God on earth. I found that the Book of Mormon is the words of ancient prophets who were called of God.

How I live my faith

For the past few months I have had the amazing opportunity to teach children from the age of 4 to the age of 11. I count myself lucky to be able to interact such awesome children. In the past I have had the opportunity to serve in youth leadership positions. Currently I have the privledge to be on a mission. All day every day I am able to serve others. It is so far the greatest experience I have had. I feel it an honor to bear the name of Jesus Christ. Every day I strive to pattern my life after Christ's.
