Hi I'm Amy

I'm a wife, daughter, friend, bank teller, & aspiring artist but most importantly, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a small town girl living out my dreams in the magical land of the Rockies. I am working towards my goal of owning my own photography business while supporting my husband in his own business. I love being outdoors, especially camping with family. I dream of traveling the world & documenting all of my experiences in photographs.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a split family, my parents were divorced when I was very young. My father stayed active in the Church while my mom fell away and chose a different lifestyle. I lived with my mom most of the time but spent summers in Idaho with my dad, the only time I could go to church was when I was there with him. The summer after my 8th birthday (when most Mormon kids are baptized as members of the Church) I was so excited to be baptized! I couldn't wait to be just like my friends that were already members of the Church. However, my mom wasn't as thrilled about this milestone and told my dad that I wasn't going to be baptized until I was old enough to decide for myself that it was what I truly wanted. Over the course of the next 5 years my mom made sure that I was well informed of my choices - taking me to different churches and letting me experience other faiths. When I was 13 I moved to my dad's house but still wasn't a member of the Church. One night I had a dream, a very simple but profound dream. It was about the temple and I knew as soon as I woke up that I really did believe the teachings of the Church and that I wouldn't be able to experience the blessings that are promised if I wasn't baptized. Two weeks later I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Since then I have seen my dreams literally come true... While attending school at Brigham Young University I met an incredibly handsome man that took me to the temple to become his wife. I couldn't ask for more, I know the blessings in my life come from knowing and living the gospel & want everyone else to experience this incredible feeling!

How I live my faith

At church every Sunday my husband & I teach children all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can be fun to live by His teachings. I also visit other women in my congregation to make sure they have any help they need!

What is being a Mormon like?

Amy
Being a Mormon helps to put all those little things that go wrong in my day to day life in perspective. I can look at my problems in an eternal sense and not worry so much. I know that my family can be together forever and that brings me peace. Show more Show less
