Hi I'm Elise

I am married and am the mother of 4 wonderful children. I teach piano classes at a small college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very close family and married into another one. I love to be with my family. Music is one of my great loves. I have taught piano lessons since I was about 16. Over the years I have had hundreds of students come and go leaving me many pleasant memories and wonderful friends. I also love researching family history, old records and photos, and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a Mormon because a life of experiences has confirmed to me that it is the path that leads to happiness. I truly am happy and content. My questions about theology are answered in our doctrine and I have read, studied and prayed about the Book of Mormon many, many times and know it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be Christlike in my interactions with others. Serving my spouse, my family, and others is the way I feel I can best do this. I work with the youth of our church and learn many things from this opportunity.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Elise
As a Mormon woman I feel great respect. Others may feel that the church treats us otherwise, because we don't hold the priesthood. An understanding of the priesthood teaches that women are greatly blessed by the priesthood. Being a priesthood holder requires service and selflessness. Priesthood blesses those around you. The priesthood holders in my life: my husband, father, sons and brothers use their priesthood authority to elevate and bless my life. Show more Show less
