Hi I'm Diann

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm with a three sisters and four brothers. We had fun but also worked hard milking cows and working in the fields. We try to stay in touch with eachother as much as we can although we live quite a distance from eachother. As a youth, I enjoyed sports, drill team, cheerleading, dancing and church youth activities. My favorite hobby through the years has been sewing and reading. I like to go walking and get fresh air as often as I can. I met my husband during my second year of college and we have been married for 37 years. We like to go on walks and hikes, to the movies and trips to visit our family. We have six children, five married and fifteen grandchildren who keep us quite busy but we enjoy them so much! I am constantly learning from all of them. I continue to enjoy sewing for fun, family and professionally. I am also very interested in nutrition information and being healthy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so happy to have the privilege of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Although I was born to parents who were already members of the church, through the years I have gained a testimony of my own of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was young I accepted what was offered to me in the way of knowledge. As I grew older I wanted to know for myself why Heavenly Father could care so much for his children and give his son as a sacrifice. My testimony grew from a combination of study, learning, prayer and serving. I am so thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for the bible to be able to know how he lived and interacted with those whom he associated. I am so appreciative as well that we have the Book of Mormon which also testifies of Jesus. This is an added demension to our understanding of how he ministered to all of his people and how he cares for all of us.

How I live my faith

It has been fun and interesting to serve in the church and to use what I have gained to work with my family, friends and neighbors. In the church we are asked or "called" to serve in a different capacity from time to time to help each other. At the beginning of this year, I was asked to serve as the music director in our ward. Although I have enjoyed music most of my life and have been a member of our church choir, I wouldn't have chosen or volunteered to direct the choir. It's been a huge learning opportunity as well as a humbling experience. My experience as a youth going to girls camp helped prepare me to reach out to others while I also learned outdoor skills of survival, cooking and a wonderful appreciation of God's creations. I like meeting people and associating with friends and sharing ideas and goodies with my neighbors.
