Hi I'm Hillary

I'm a wife and a full-time mom of two kids. I love to spend time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my amazing husband for 7 years. We have two beautiful children- a 4-year old daughter and 6-month old son. We recently moved across the country so my husband could complete a doctorate program. I am very fortunate right now to be a full-time mom after working for most of our marriage, even though we are just living on student loans and love! I've discovered I really like to plan and cook healthy meals for my family. I don't scrapbook, sew, draw, paint or do crafts. But my daughter thinks I make pretty sweet play-doh sculptures and we often decorate the patio with our sidewalk chalk art. I do preschool with her in our home and right now we're trying to learn Spanish together. One of my favorite things to hear come out of my daughter's mouth (besides "I love you" of course) is, "you're cool, mom." I love to spend time outdoors with my family. I like to do jigsaw puzzles and read when the kids are in bed. I'm usually up for playing most any sport anytime. I especially love to play volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of the doctrine found within it. Without the church I wouldn't know who I am. I know I am a daughter of God. I know that God loves me, He knows me individually, and He has a plan for me. I know that we are on this earth to learn and to become more like God. Every day and everything I do has meaning. He wants us to be happy and to help each other. There is a reason I am on this earth right now and not 100 years ago. There is something I can do at this time that nobody else can do. He wants us to develop and share our talents. I know that He loves us so much that he provided a Savior for us, Jesus Christ who suffered for all of our sins, pains, sorrows, and afflictions. Jesus is our friend and has experienced all the agony and sorrow we have, so if we but turn to Him, he will ease our burdens. I know that true joy and everlasting happiness comes from obeying God's commandments and having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I teach the young women at church and help them plan and carry out meaningful activities and service. I really like to teach and help them realize who they are and their divine potential. I also visit some of the other women from church and take meals to families when they have a new baby, or other life-changing event. I also like to teach my own children and try to use every opportunity to share with them my knowledge of the gospel. We try to involve our children in serving others as much as possible- and they really enjoy it!
