Hi I'm Courtney

I grew up in Washington. I am a stay-at-home mom with an 18-month old girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Courtney. I live in Washington state with my husband and young daughter. We are expecting another baby in a couple of months and I am very excited about that. I graduated from Brigham Young University about four years ago and I worked for several years doing daycare. Now, I get to stay at home with my daughter. I love watching her grow. I enjoy reading and spending time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family. My parents took us to church every Sunday and we would read scriptures together and pray together as a family. I was baptized into this church when I was eight. When I got older I needed to decide for myself about remaining an active Mormon. I had a church teacher when I was about fifteen ask the question that Jesus asks His apostles in the New Testament. It is something like "What think ye of Christ?" That is when I wanted to seriously ponder my feelings about the Savior. As I studied the scriptures more, I realized that I really love the gospel. Going to Brigham Young University helped me make other Latter-Day Saint friends and meet my husband. We love the feelings we get when we attend church. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At church, I work with the class for ten-year-olds. I love this calling because I get to study the gospel more seriously so I can be fully prepared to teach my class every Sunday. I also have wonderful ladies I visit and we are able to talk about the gospel and see how each other are doing. At home I try to read my scriptures everyday. I am currently studying the Book of Mormon and I am always amazed at the new insights I am able to learn as I study. Our family says morning and evening prayers and those prayers help keep our faith strong. I feel better knowing that we have a Heavenly Father who is watching over us and is always there for us.
