Hi I'm Travis

I'm a highschool french teacher and a softball coach. I love sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports, baseball, softball, football, basketball, soccer; I just enjoy running around and having fun. I have a son that is such a joy in my life and a wife that is amazing. I take great comfort in knowing my Savior and what He has done for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the LDS church because there is peace in knowing truth. It is a wonderful thing to feel of the spirit know that our Heavenly Father watches over His children, to know that through Christ's sacrifice for us in the garden of Gethsemane and on the cross that we can over come spiritual death and physical death. I love reading from the book of Mormon and the truths that are found in it's pages as it too testifies of Jesus Christ. I love knowing that we have living prophets and apostles on the earth today to help lead and guide us as the did in the days of old. I find peace and happiness as I obey the commandments and live in a way that I know Heavenly Father wants me to live as one of His sons. Oftentimes people think that the LDS religion is very strict. I see it as very free because in living the gospel of Jesus Christ you have a more joyful life in being obedient. I am grateful that I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I will be going when this life is over.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others in the Church and outside of the church through service. To me there are several types of service: 1) Physical 2) Spiritual 3) Emotional. Thankfully I have been blessed with good health so I have been able to help in storm reliefs from tornados or hurricanes. I also help others in community service projects. I enjoy sharing my beliefs and witness of the truth to people who are struggling and do not know where to turn for answers. I know that it is in the Bible and the Book of Mormon that my Savior speaks to me as well as in my heart, so I point others to Him and His word. As I am able to share my testimony I feel of my Savior's love for me and for the others that I am able to touch in sharing His word. There are also sometimes when people just need someone there to unload heavy thoughts or discuss difficulties in their life, and I try to be there as I know the Savior would. So I serve by giving to others. In the church I have been able to teach sunday school classes and work with the youth and work with the members in general. I have found that in serving one finds greater love.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Travis
I dress for church in my best clothes. I feel like I should look my best since I am going to worship the Lord. I always wear a white shirt and tie as well as a suit. We celebrate all the holidays that everyone else celebrates: Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, 4th of July ect, ect. Show more Show less
