Hi I'm Steve Jones

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Police Officer. My hobbies include bicycling (road and mountain), enduro motorcross racing and riding, snow skiing, hunting, fishing, sports, fast cars, flying, coin collecting, hang gliding, and playing guitar. Basically I just love to have fun, and yes I'm an adrenaline junky. I am married to a wonderful wife and I am a father to two boys.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are ones that encourage me to be the best person I can be and bring me closer to God. I firmly believe in being honest, a peace keeper, always doing good things for and helping other people, standing up for what's right, being a moral person, and being an honorable person. The church also teaches to avoid substances that are habit forming and addictive to our bodies, which has enabled me to be healthy and excell in my bicycle racing and other physical pursuits. people have aked me why I believe what I believe. I tell them that I know that God expects us to be good people and I know the teachings of my chuch are from God and we have a living prophet on the earth that recieves revalation from Him to lead this church. My friends have asked me what if I'm wrong; I then tell them I am not wrong, but even if I was, the worst thing to happen is I die a good an honorable person who has always tried to make the world a better place.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith on a daily basis. I am not perfect and far from it, but I am constantly striving to become the best person I can be. I always try to serve others as this leads to the most happiness in my life. I have been truly blessed by my Father in Heaven because of this. I also live the Golden Rule and treat others as I would want to be treated. I keep my body free of harmful substances which keeps me healthy. I participate in community functions and serve my community by giving of my time to teach and help others. I believe in always trying to make the world a better place. I am a leader in my church and give of my time freely without being paid, or any expectation of reward. I put the lives of others before mine in importance.
