Hi I'm Kelsey

I love to sing. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent a graduate with a master's in Speech-Language Pathology. I love working with kids. To see the light in their eyes when they have realized that they have improved their communication is worth it. I love to sing! I rarely have time to focus on my singing but I try to get involved in choir at church and take advantage of any other opportunity I get. I am married and trying to balance home life and work life. I've recently started at least pretending to play the ukulele. I love to read and continue my education by learning about my community at museums, etc and I love going on road trips with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it all makes sense. What I learn in church and through studying the scriptures help all the puzzle pieces fit together. I have studied and prayed and know I have a Savior and Friend in the Lord Jesus Christ. The principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ teach that there is a purpose for life, that we each have responsibilities and places to go. There is purpose in my life and the Lord helps me find my way. When I study His words and pray to know the truth, He teaches me in personal meaningful ways that help me to know without a doubt that He is real, He loves me, and He has a plan for me. He teaches me through scripture, through words of living leaders, through His prophet, and through individualized guidance from the spirit called personal revelation. Because of my relationship with the Lord through past experiences, I know He is perfectly aware of me - all my mistakes and shortcomings and talents and skills – but He loves me perfectly and helps me in every aspect of my life. I know He wants me to succeed and become like Him. This peace has led me to seek more knowledge for what the Lord wants for me. I have gained testimony for myself that the Book of Mormon is true and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true church and gospel today restored through His divine authority. My life has purpose and meaning as I try to follow His teachings as taught through the principles of His gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading from the Bible and Book of Mormon everyday. Each of these books stand as supporting witnesses of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. I know that by reading about Him I can learn how to be more like Him. I live my faith by listening to the voice of the current prophet of the Lord and other leaders as they further guide me toward Jesus Christ via conferences and publications from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I live my faith by trying to fulfill assignments I am given because of my membership in the church. When I fulfill assignments I am showing the Lord that I am obedient and can sacrifice my time to do what He would want me to do. I live my faith by trying to find the good in each day and in each person I meet. We live in difficult times when it is easy to become discouraged and feel alone. But I know that there is purpose in my life which gives me hope. I know that each person is a child of God and, like me, has a purpose, whether they choose it or not. I try especially hard to remember this when I have a bad day, when I am discouraged by others around me, or when others make me upset. I live my faith by trying to be nice even when it's hard. I live my faith by trying to be of service to others. I hate feeling useless. I try to pay attention and bring a smile to someone's face when they are having a bad day. I live my faith by letting the gospel give me something to smile about and trying to share that with others.
