Hi I'm Derrick

I'm a silicon valley marketing professional, sports fan and athlete. I secretly enjoy musicals and project runway. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in high-tech and have probably had a hand in bringing your favorite mobile device to market. I enjoy all things sports and can usually be found on a court or field when not talking fantasy football with buddies or keeping up on the latest tech trends. Life is about family and friends so I travel the world to see them as often as time allows. I believe almost anything can be interesting/enjoyable if given a chance, even reality dance shows. I live by the adage "work hard, play hard" and I strive to do my personal best in all things. I also really like chocolate cake.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church and never had to "find" it, I definitely had to find my own testimony of its truth. It didn't happen all at once, but over time I came to realize that I can look back on my childhood and say with confidence that my life would not be as full and enjoyable as it is today without the church. From the teachings of Christ to the shining examples of youth leaders and support of fellow church members, the church provided my life with a foundation for success in school, work, family and all things spiritual. They say you can judge a tree by its fruit. I can say without hesitation that this is definitely the true Church of Christ. I've seen the fruits in my life and in the lives of others. I've witnessed first hand how the church has changed lives and led people to happiness. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I believe in practical religion. Every day I do my best to show love and kindness to those I meet and hopefully contribute to making their day better. My goal is for people to see the love of Christ in my actions and be inspired to pass it on.
