Hi I'm Rachelle

I'm a wife. I'm the mother of two beautiful children. I'm an avid hiker. I'm a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up thinking that I never wanted my life to be defined by my kids. I wanted to be my own person. And in many ways I've accomplished that. The funny thing is, now (15 years later) my family is my life. And while it isn't always perfect, I find happiness in connecting with my kids and teaching them the skills they need to be successful in life. I love spending time with my family. Some of our favorite memories come from our family hikes together. Personally, I love the serenity of nature, the rythm of the ocean, the smell of the moss on the trees and the beauty of a blue sky. It speaks to my soul and I come away feeling renewed and resfreshed. And as a family, when we are out in nature, we connect with one another in a way that just isn't possible when the neighbor kids are ringing the doorbell, the phone is ringing off the hook and we're running a million different directions trying to get everything done. Our hikes give us a chance to talk and laugh with one another without any other distractions.

Why I am a Mormon

The easy answer is because I was raised a Mormon. But that wouldn't be the honest answer. It's easy to do something you've been taught your whole life, but there have been many times when it would have been much easier to do something or BE something different. So why am I a Mormon? I love the teachings of this church. Each and every Sunday we are taught to honor our spouses, to love our children, to be frugal and prepare for the future, to be honest and exhibit other characteristics that enable healthy friendships and relationships, and so many others. Who wouldn't want to be a part of such an amazing group of people? I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of this church. I know that God answers prayers. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that President Monson is a true prophet of God. I know it, because I can feel it deep down in my soul. I am a Mormon because I love God and Jesus Christ. I love this church for so many reasons, but recently have been so astounded by the humanitarian work that is happening all around the world. I am honored to be a small part of that, and hope that once my children are grown I will have an opportunity to participate more fully in the humanitarian work. I am a Mormon because it brings hope, love and charity into my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by raising my beautiful family and teaching both secular and non-secular things to my children. I love that family is so important in this church. I live my faith by volunteering in my community to make it a better place. I have spent time cooking meals for the homeless shelter and handing out produce for the local foodbank. I live my faith by helping to organize activities for women in the church to come together and have fun and find strength in being together. Life's challenges are much easier to overcome when you have a group of friends that support and love you through everything. I live my faith by studying the scriptures and praying to my Father in Heaven. Doing this daily lifts my spirits and brings peace and calm to my life.
