Hi I'm Carly

I live in Mesa, AZ. I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, DIYer, & musician. I love life! I am proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I was born & raised in Mesa, AZ. I am the 4th of 9 children. I was taught to share, work hard, be responsible & serve others. I was home schooled most of my life & loved it. Originally starting for a degree in Vocal Performance, I took the AA "shortcut" to be a mother at home. I love to sing, play the piano and play my harp professionally for weddings, parties, at church and at home. I love to be outdoors-hiking, running, playing sports, swimming, biking, kayaking, snow skiing, gardening, whatever. I love cooking/baking & LOVE homemade foods (cookies, pastries, bread etc.) I married a wonderful man named Daniel in July of 2008. He is my support & best friend. We have 2 handsome young boys-Dallin & Kyle-and two beautiful little girls-Gracelyn and Lillian. They bring the laughter & sunshine in my life! Family is SO important to me. I am industrious & creative. I like DIY projects..sometimes too much. I love bottling & canning and preparing our family for the "rainy days" that have already come & may yet come. I'm cheap and frugal and rarely buy things at full price. I dream of living on a 5 acre+ homestead one day. The thought of living off my land makes me giddy! I enjoy taking advantage of Pinterest ideas and how-to's & checking the "Free" section on Craigslist. I LOVE the beach and enjoy vacationing with my family there. I also love to go up to the mountains for a getaway weekend at the cabin. I love reading. I wouldn't trade having and being with my family for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up my entire life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have had so many little experiences in my life that have helped me to know that the Gospel is true. I have also read the Book of Mormon a number of times and each time I have prayed, seeking to know the truth, I have always received my answer of its validity and truthfulness. I know I am a child of God, our Heavenly Father, and I know Jesus Christ is not only his literal Son but that he is my Savior and Redeemer. I know where I came from, why I am here and where I want to go after this life--to live with my Father in Heaven again. I am so thankful for the knowledge I have about the gospel and the Plan of Salvation. I know families are so important and that the family unit is central to our Heavenly Father's Plan. I love my family so very much and I know for a fact that I can be with them forever! That is such a huge comfort to me. I know the Atonement is real, that it truly happened and that Christ rose from the dead and conquered the grave. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another special witness of Jesus Christ. I know if I follow it's teachings and principles that I can be happy and have joy. I know there is a living prophet on the earth today and that he is God's mouthpiece; that he speaks the words that God himself would speak if he were here. I don't know where I would be without the Gospel in my life and don't even want to imagine what my life would even be like without it. It makes life worth living.

How I live my faith

I love attending my church meetings each Sunday and love being part of the Relief Society organization. This is an organization of the women in our church who have the goal, responsibility and combined effort of helping others temporally, spiritually and emotionally whether that's just being a friend to someone or helping bring in a dinner meal to a sick family or one who's just had a baby or lost a loved one. I love my calling as a visiting teacher. I have made so many friends as I have fulfilled my calling and gotten to know and serve the sisters I am responsible for. I also love teaching the little children about Jesus, about how they are children of God and how much he loves them. I love being with their sweet, innocent spirits..they are such wonderful examples to me of being Christ-like, forgiving, humble, etc. I feel so close to my Father in Heaven as I listen to these sweet souls sing songs about Heaven, Jesus, being kind, etc. I love getting together and helping with Service Projects. I live my faith by striving to love, help, lift and serve those around me whether of my same faith or not. Everyone is important, special and unique in their own way. I strive to keep and live the commandments and do as my Savior would do. I am not even close to perfection but I know I can repent of my mistakes and sins and through the Atonement that Christ made I can be forgiven of those sins and continue in my pursuit of striving to be like him.
