Hi I'm Preston

I grew up in Yuma, Az. I like family reunions, shooting sports, and ceramics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Ogden, Ut. My family moved to Yuma, Az when I was a year old and I grew up there in the heat of the Desert Southwest. I have two wonderful parents, an older brother, and a younger sister. Growing up, my family always took summer vacation to get away from life and spend time with family. I have fond memories of family reunions during the fourth of July, where I got to know all my cousins, aunts and uncles. My relationships with my immediate family and extended family are, to me, the most valued part of my life. In school I wrestled, played football, and threw shot and disc in track and field. One of my favorite past times is working with ceramics; sculpting and "throwing" pots on the wheel. Aside from physical sports I found that working in clay helped me to relieve stress and be a little more creative. My family and I also do a lot of shooting in our free time.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I love Jesus and I recognize the impact the Gospel has had in my family. Living the Gospel has given my family direction, strengthened our love for each other, and has given us the hope to perservere through life's challenges. The values that we hold dear bless my life every day and I have discovered a greater relationship with God and more meaningful relationships with my family and others as I live my faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow the example of the Savior. I attend church and read the scriptures, including the Bible and the Book of Mormon so I can strengthen my faith in Christ daily. Serving others has helped me develope a more Christ -Like love. I feel very strongly that giving selfless service is the best way we can spread the love of our savoir Jesus Christ to the hearts of our friends and our families. It is important to me that I live my faith every day of the week so I strive to have clean thoughts and clean language, to pray to God daily, and then to listen to the answer that he gives. Then I do all I can to follow his guidance. I know the blessings of God I enjoy in my live come from trying my best to live the teachings of Christ and I know it is only because of his grace that anything I do matters.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that without the divine sacrifice of Jesus Christ the son of God there is nothing any one of us could do to qualify ouirselves to enter the Kingdom of God. We also believe that Christ said " if ye love me keep my commandments". Which if we do he will bless us and our families. Show more Show less
