Hi I'm Nate

I grew up in rural Missouri on a dairy farm. I work in online marketing now. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Nate. I am husband to a wonderful wife and father of 3 great kids. I am a database administrator and business intelligence professional and I work in the online marketing industry. I grew up in southwest Missouri on a dairy farm and I now reside in Pleasant Grove, Utah. I enjoy all sports and all outdoor activities including biking, fly-fishing, backpacking, running and gardening. I love spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My membership in the Mormon church is one of the things I hold most precious in my life. I come from a long line of Mormon history and heritage on both my mother and father's side of the family. However, despite this heritage, I reached a point in my early adult life when I had to decide for myself if the religion of my past would be the religion of my future. I grew up in a part of the country where I was not surrounded by others who shared my faith. I wanted to know if the things professed by the church were true. I prayed to know for myself if the Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true. I received a personal witness that -these things are true. I also gained a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was restored to the earth and contained the fullness of the gospel on the earth. I am a Mormon because the Mormon church contains the priesthood power of God and enable me to perform and participate in sacred ordinances that bless me and my family and enable us to be an eternal family. I am so grateful for my testimony and knowledge of the truthfulness of these things. Not only does the gospel help me to know what to do, it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an active member of the church and trying to do the things that are asked of me. I currently work with the Bishop (leader of our congregation) to help to minister to those in our area and help with the administration of the our local church unit. I am able to meet with the Youth regularly and counsel with them about how they are doing and help in any way I can. I live my faith by having a family night, once a week, where we meet as a family and have a gospel lesson and enjoy activities together. I live my faith by trying to regularly pray and study my scriptures. This helps me to improve and do better in the capacities I am asked to serve in.
