Hi I'm Cory

I grew up in Monticello, UT. I love golfing, cutting down trees, and not ashamed to say I'm a Mormon!!!

About Me

I am the 7th of 8 children in my family, I really enjoyed playing on various sports teams in high school, and hanging out with friends. I had the opportunity to serve a full time mission for my church in Spokane Washington. I am currently enrolled in College, but have not decided on a career path quite yet, but hope to find a wife that will be supportive of what I choose to pursue. I love to laugh and believe a well placed joke is something that helps me keep a balance in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Many would think of me as being "born" a Mormon, because I was raised in an LDS family and baptized when I was 8 years old. I don't remember much of my baptism, other than knowing that I had made the right decision. As I entered my teenage years I found that a simple declaration of Faith in Jesus Christ wasn't enough for me. Anyone can say they believe in Jesus Christ, but "how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served?" (Mosiah 5:13) Through more sincere scripture study, church attendance, and prayer, I came to know my savior personally. He is a real being with a real body, that I can rely on as my best friend. Someone who can understand me when no one else can. Someone who sees potential, and goodness in me. Someone who really cares, and really listens to my prayers. Someone who is aware of my struggles, and willing to help. Someone who can help me feel calm and at peace. Someone who asks me to sacrifice certain things, but never ask for more than I can give. I CHOSE to be a Mormon, because its the truth. I know this because I have experienced the Joy that comes from living the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was chosen by God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ and The Book of Mormon is the powerful evidence of all these things. How could something that feels so wonderful not be from a Loving Heavenly Father?

How I live my faith

I think the best way anyone will recognize what I believe, is to see how I act. The Church has given me many opportunities to serve others. Some of my greatest experiences have come through the service I have been able to do in the community as a young person. I feel that someone who really is converted to Jesus Christ will have the innate desire to reach out to others. It just feels right! "But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when though art converted, strengthen thy brethren." Luke 22:32
