Hi I'm Joanne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mormon, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have lived my life with non Mormons and love living in a multi-cultural area in California. I have a wide range of interests. I enjoy the outdoors and have played and competed in tennis for forty years. I love hiking in the Bay Area hills and cycling. Community service is a passion of mine ( I serve on a Pleasanton nonprofit organization board), I love the creativity of homemaking, gardening, and working with fabric. I have enjoyed travel in Israel, Europe and Australia. My greatest passion is my family; my husband and my five children and sixteen grandchildren. My role is to keep them all connected while living in four different states. Although life has much to offer my greatest pleasures are simply found in my family relationships.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a family that taught me to live a christian life. I learned to appreciate my Mormon life, taught in my home, when I attended college in another state. At that time, I became aware of the love that the Savior, Jesus Christ has for me and how his atonement covers for my sins and brings me close to him. My personal testimony continues today and has been strengthened as I have relied upon my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because the true principles taught in the Gospel of Jesus Christ bring me great joy every day. The Mormon church provides a way and a guide to help me live and influence my family to find happiness in troubled times. Because of the problems of life that are clearly with our country and world today, I find peace comfort and reassurance that there is a true way to find happiness.

How I live my faith

As I live my life within the Mormon church there is a great deal of joy that comes with participating in service to other church members and the community. I feel there is a place for me to make a difference. I have learned organizational skills while working as director of Public Affairs and also working as a church Young Women leader and Camp Director. Most of all, I love to work with other women and families that may need help; visiting with them in their homes and giving them strength to carry on. I love the opportunity to pray with a friend, reaching out to a Heavenly Father who is there to give hope to carry on and peace to a trouble heart. I am grateful for the Mormon Church and the enriching plan for life that it offers. Through out my life it has been the source of truth and direction for a happy way of life--a life consistent with the teachings of Christ found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
