Hi I'm Chance Owen Edwards

I was born in the desert of Mesa, AZ and love the outdoors. I also love going fast. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am young and full of life. I love to snowboard, ski, ride motorcycles, work on cars and Just about anything outdoors. Somehow, being born in the desert, i love the heat (most of the time). I love going camping. I love making a day trip out of snowboarding. So i also like the cold. Me, and whoever i can get to go with me, will pile in and hit the slopes early in the morning and then i usually drive home while everyone sleeps. I work best on 5 hours of sleep. I love dogs. Especially the big ones that slobber like crazy and are just big ogres. They always seem to have the biggest hearts too. I love to work out. I love getting off work and heading for the gym. I also love work itself. Some days are easier than others but for the most part, a good hard days worth of mental and physical strain creates a sense of self worth. I also love my family. I have a mom and a dad, and a step-mom and soon to be a step-dad. I have one real brother and a step sister and a step brother, and soon to be another set of step siblings. Family is really what everything is about. When all things are said and done and we look back at our lives, its our family relationships that we either made or neglected, that we will care about. Nothing that this world has to sell us or offer us can come close to what a family relationship can give.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, i started out a Mormon because i was born in to a family that was taking me to a Mormon church. I was baptized at the age of 8 just like all the other members of the church. My dads side of the family was all members. Some of my moms side of the family are members. So that's where i started. When i was about 15 i went inactive for several reasons. I lived life for a while on my own. I found fun and happiness in whatever i was doing. But it never lasted. So around the age of 22-23 i started searching for something in my head. I had several dreams that went back to my days when i was an active member of the church. I knew that I had to do something to either get the possibility of the church out of my head or find what i was looking for. What i found was that everything pointed to the Book of Mormon, and whether or not it was true. The Book of Mormon is true. And with it was the promised blessings that came from our Heavenly Father. The promised blessings of an eternal family. The knowledge that there is a prophet of God to receive counsel from, to help keep me away from all the dangers the world has to throw at me. Now i know i am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church here on the earth. The same organization that the Savior himself organized almost 2000 years ago. I love the Savior Jesus Christ, and all that he has done and all that he has gone through for me. And for everyone else in the world.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is difficult at times, but i think that's part of what keeps me so enthusiastic about it. I love a challenge, and the example that the savior set for us is one of the greatest challenges we will ever come up against. He was perfect, and we are far from perfect, and even after a lifetime of perfecting ourselves, we will still not ever be perfect in this life. I always strive to be a good example to those around me. I will stand up for something that isn't right. I try to always be a friend to everyone i meet. Pride is something i will always fight against to accomplish being a friend to everyone. When it comes to serving in my congregation, i will always do anything that i am called to do. I know the Lord knows me and He knows my talents. So He will always use those talents to help someone around me. Right now i am serving a mission for the church in the Indianapolis Indiana mission. I have served in Avon, Plainfield, Shelbyville, Franklin, Terre Haute, Logansport, Columbia City , Greenwood and Bloomington.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Chance Owen Edwards
That's easy. But the hard part is that you have to want to know. Trying to disprove or look in to whether or not all the things we know are true just for entertainment, will never give you the answer you are looking for. God has told us that we can learn of ALL truth. We do that through the Holy Ghost. This isn't just some crazy Mormon doctrine either. In the book of James 1: 5-6 we are given this same advice. But the Lord is not an author of confusion. So He isn't going to give you an answer just because you thought it would be a fun question to ask. But he will answer you if you really seek for the truth. So you have to read the Book of Mormon and you have to think about the things you read in there. Then you have to Pray about the things you think about. And finally you have to attend church. You cant know if you like or dislike the way a car rides without driving it first right? So you have to attend church and seek out the Holy Ghost at an LDS sacrament meeting. Truly ask Him through prayer if this is His church on the earth. Show more Show less
