Hi I'm Ken

I am married and the father of 3 children. I live in Gilbert, Arizona. I was a U.S. Navy pilot for 30 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married. I am a father of 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. I was in the U.S. Navy for 34 years and a Naval pilot for 30 years. I have traveled the World on the Seven Seas and visited many religions. I flew 177 Combat Missions over North Vietnam. On each of those missions, God was my Co-pilot. I have been shot at and missed and shot at and hit. I was fortunate and returned safely after each mission. I retired from the Navy in June 1986 and worked in the Civilian sector for another 11 years. My first wife passed away in January 1997 from pneunonia. I have since remarried'

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon but when I entered the U.S. Naval Academy in June 1952 being a Mormon, as a religion, was not recognized and for the purpose of putting your religion on your Dog Tags, I had to put down either Catholic or Protestant so I put down Protestant. This seemed to carry throughout my Naval career. However, before I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1956 we had organized a group of Mormon midshipmen into a Mormon Battalion and we marched into the town of Annapolis every Sunday morning to hold church Services with a group of Mormons from the Washington D.C. Stake. Whenever I served on board ship I had to find another Mormon boy to hold Sunday Services with and we would meet wherever we could, even in Gun Tubs. We did, however, have either Protestant or Catholic Chaplains on board ship so we could, and did attend those services. In those years the LDS Church was not located in every city that the ship was located. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and I believe that through him and through his grace I can be saved if I live my life serving others and following his commandants.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the 1st Assistant to the High Priest Group Leader for our Ward. I am also the President of the Homeowners Association where I live and in this capacity I look after 60 familes that live in that Association. In both of these capacities I serve to help those in need of help. I am a Home Teacher for 5 families within our Church and I look after their welfare both spiritually and physically.
