Hi I'm Debbie

I grew up in Ontario Canada, I'm a daughter, a sister, a student, and soon to be a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently at student at University in Australia, taking primary teaching. I just moved back to Canada to do my last Prac. I have a love for the arts, I am a flameworker, a glass blower, a leather worker, and I love to dabble in many other mediums. I enjoy the outdoors (camping, hiking, canoeing, swimming, scuba diving, etc.) I am a chief scout. I love working with children, I have my ECE from a College in Canada. I also enjoy dancing I was learning modern jive. I love building homes, watching/collecting movies, creative parties, and hang out with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 12 years old when I joined the church. I was the first in my family followed by my little brother, my dido (Grandfather), then my mum, and finally my dad. It started with scouting, my dad had a scout who was a member of the church, his mum asked if these two missionaries could come talk to the youth about what it was like going to scouts in the USA. After which they came once a night to do service helping out with the youth (never once talking about the church). Then one night after scouts was over the missionaries asked my dad if they could come by our house and share a message. Well the rest is History! My family became members, of course it took over 3 months before my whole family all joined. I have been a member of the church for 16 years now, and I wouldn't change for anything. I know that Joseph Smith was inspired of God to help re-organize the church for these latter-days. I know that President Monson is the prophet today and that every prophet between the two are inspired men of God to help direct and care for Heavenly Fathers children. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, that with the Bible it contains a history and truth that can not be denied if read with real intent to know of the truth by the spirit (See Moroni 10:3-5). I know the Temple is the house of the Lord and many wonderful experiences have happened there. I know that the church is true.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church I been involoved in many activities, some examples are; I have worked as a cub leader, taught toddlers-teenagers, been a girls camp director for many years, sang in a choir, been a choister, looked after church activities such as; group dinners, jelly twister, dances, campfires, etc. I have been part of many service projects, such as painting houses, helping clean up after the Brisbane floods and making food for those in need.
