Hi I'm Jenny

I grew up in Houston,TX and am raising 4 busy kids! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 5 great kids. One has already made it back to his Heavenly Father. Four others are here to keep me busy. I volunteer at the Elementary, middle, and high school when I can. I am getting into family history which will be a great past time I am sure. I love to read and learn new things. Some of my hobbies also include finding a good bargain, playing the piano, working in the yard, and spending time with my family. I love to plant new things and watch them come to life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I had a time where I needed to choose for myself what/who I wanted to be. I knew at a young age that what I was taught was true and good. I have not looked back. When my husband and I had been married almost two years we had our first son. He was such a blessing. After he was born we realized that he was not going to be with us in this life for very long. We had to make to agonizing decision to turn off life support and allow the Lord to take him home to his Heavenly home. Through this experience I began to understand that because of a loving and merciful Heavenly Father I would be able to be with him again someday. The Savior Jesus Christ came and paid the ultimate price so that I could have this precious gift. This life is not the end. I know that God lives! He knows me by name. My Savior has carried me when I could not go forward on my own. There has never been a time when I have been left alone. He is always there. Guiding, prompting, and simply loving me! I know that this is true. I felt it seared into my soul as the Spirit has born witness to me. I know that my family is eternal. We will be together in the next life. I am eternally grateful for this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I have been able to work with the youth at church from planning activities with them to teaching them Gospel principals. I have gone to camps and various activities provided for the youth. I play the organ at church for our Sunday meetings. I play a role in making sure the needs of the women in our congregation are met as our ward's compassionate service leader. This entails setting up meals, rides, babysitting and whatever other needs are there. I have taught primary age children. It has been a privilege to serve in many different areas. I love the scripture that states "When Ye Are in the Service of Your Fellow Beings Ye Are Only in the Service of Your God" (Mosiah 2:17). I have seen it in action many times. I have found that as I lose myself in service to others I truly find myself. I feel much closer to my savior Jesus Christ.
