Hi I'm Kent Campbell

I was a Kalamazoo (Mich.) kid. I married and raised children as a Washingtonian and Aerospace Engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a Dad of 4 college students last year... they are making progress. I work as an Commercial Airplane Fuel System Mechanical Engineer, its fun and helps pay the college bills. I enjoy being around my family , but also enjoy time by myself. I enjoy building and repairing things. I like being active in a variety of activities like swimming, sailing, Kayaking, gardening, hiking /walking, yard work, home and car repairs. I have been an 11 Yr Old Boy Scout Leader for about 8 years, it has been great fun. I think work is rewarding, and I can usually enjoy work as much fun and activity times.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by amazing parents who were patient and loving, and they made great efforts to teach the scriptures and comandments every day. We gathered as family to discuss the gospel of Jesus Christ during the week and attended "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" during the week and every Sunday. Their example and teachings caused me to also want know the scriptures and commandments and understand the love God has for us in providing a savior (Jesus Christ) and a plan for us to grow and return to him. Through reading the scriptures, listening to inspired men and wemon each week, and through personal prayer, I have continued confirmation, that because of love, God sent his son to die for me /us and provided the means we can return to him if follow his simple plan. Through personal revelation, and also by following the doctrines of Jesus Christ (if any man shall apply his doctine.. he stated they shall know the truth of that doctine) as found in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" I know this is the organization that Jesus has estabilished for my benefit, and for the accomplishment of his great work.

How I live my faith

The church organization has helped instruct me to be a better person, father, and citizen. My family has developed habbits of reading and discussing the scriptures, and praying daily together for many years. Giving thanks for our food and our many blessings daily is important to us. I am an Eagle Scout and have been involved in teaching and encouraging youth for many years. I have been an "11 year old boy scout leader" (like a scout master) for about 9 years now. I have enjoyed being around 11 yr olds and teaching them basic scouting skills, and helping them set goals, and understand their obligations to God and our great Country. I enjoy working and seeing accomplishments at work, in my own family, and in the community.

What is faith?

Kent Campbell
When one has faith in Christ, this person believes, or maybe just hopes, that seeking him will bring peace, love, and forgiveness of their sins through his attonement. Faith will also bring revelation to a seeker of the truth, or a true knowledge of God and his plan. Prayer is essential in having faith in God. The scriptures teach that any person who truely seeks after God will know that he is, and that he rewards anyone that truely seeks in faith after his will. To me this is faith, it is a principle of power, for Christ said if we have faith [even like unto the size] of a mustard seed, great things can be done. God cannot lie. It is the every day steps of faith (doing good / seeking God, and avoiding evil) that brings us, and keeps us, close to God. Show more Show less
