Hi I'm Joe

I have always sought the truth and have finally found it. I'm a Mormon convert.

About Me

I am a thirty year old husband and father of two. I grew up an Army Brat and traveled quite a bit. I love to play competitive sports including flag football, softball, racquetball and ping pong. I enjoy weight lifting and other physical activities. I also find entertainment in movies. I have a large DVD and Blu-ray library. I have a Bachelor degree in Management, a Master of Business Administration, a Project Management Certificate, a Visual Communication Certificate and plan to pursue medical school in the very near future. I have attended Louisiana State University, Arizona State University and University of Phoenix. College Football is my favorite sport to watch as I no longer have the time to follow all major sports. I love my wife and daughters too much to let my free time be spent totally in front of the TV on the weekends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always felt a deep spiritual connection with our Heavenly father, even as a 10 year old boy. I can specifically remember three distinct times in my life where i fell to my knees in earnest, trying to find the truth and the place where I should be. Once as a 10 year old boy, again as a college freshman, and lastly as a committed boyfriend to my future wife. At the time I met my wife I was not living a disciplined or religious life and neither was she. As we allowed our relationship to mature we quickly realized that we had to make some major life changes and that included recommitting ourselves spiritually. We are fortunate enough to both have parents who are deeply spiritual and raised us with strong Christian beliefs. There was no doubt in my mind we needed our Heavenly father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in our lives. We began reading scriptures in the New Testament and I started asking questions of those around me who I felt were "good" people. Surprisingly every person I inquired of was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Whitney and I began studying the scriptures and the Book of Mormon and I was baptized into the church on May 17, 2007. I am grateful to now learn about the fullness of the gospel and to have a better understanding of our existence. I have a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, God, and the living prophet.

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed many different callings (opportunities to serve in our church) since my baptism. I am currently an instructor to a group of men in my local church group. I teach on Sundays and have pushed myself to help others learn the simple truths I have to come to know myself. I also visit two families in my local church group and have the opportunity teach them in their respective homes usually once a month.
