Hi I'm Jared

I'm a professional dad, an engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend most of my days working as a civil engineer. I went to college to study Civil Engineering and I've been doing it ever since. I love working with people and solving challenges for clients. I love to see the principles of math and physics in real life applications (crazy, I know - my kids and wife tell me all the time!) When I’m not at work, I simply love to be with my wife and family. I can't explain how much I love being a husband and dad. The outdoors is where we thrive, especially at the lake. Wake boarding, tubing, fishing, surfing... if you can do it on the water, we love it! It's always fun to explore new places and share different experiences together. I consider my job is as a civil engineer, but my career is a husband and father. My love and passion is for them. It's a constant challenge to maintain that balance. I'm happiest when my family gets the priority.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m grateful that my mom and dad were religious people who taught me about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As such, I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 8 years old. I joined my family at church and I enjoyed it. It wasn’t until I was in high school that I really began to search for truth and understanding in life. I had friends that asked me questions about my church and I had to really search and study for answers. The reason I’m Mormon is because I found answers. Most importantly, I learned that I have a loving Father in Heaven that wants me to be happy and return to his presence some day. That has stuck with me throughout my life and has helped me along the way. Jesus Christ is the center of this plan and has made this possible. I'm forever indebted to him for his grace, sacrifice, and example.

How I live my faith

I believe in God. I believe that He is my Heavenly Father. As such, I believe that we are all spiritual brothers and sisters. This belief has guided me throughout my life. It has helped me treat others with kindness and concern. I love to serve my family and others because of how it makes me feel. I feel closer to my Heavenly Father as I serve those around me. I live my faith through my actions every day. I live my faith through my thoughts and feelings towards others. It’s easier to treat others compassionately and “give them the benefit of the doubt” when I remember that we’re all part of a big spiritual family. This has brought great peace to my heart and happiness to my life. I live my faith through service. I serve as a Boy Scout leader and love it. I serve in my community as a member of the Rotary Club where we participate in local and international service projects. I serve in my church as a teacher. The personal growth that comes from teaching is extremely rewarding. I serve within my family by loving my wife and children and spending time with them. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and made it possible to return to our Heavenly home and I try to remember him always and treat everyone accordingly.
