Hi I'm Cortney

I'm a photographer, I love meeting new people, I want to change the world, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There is a lot of beauty to be had in the world and i love being able to share it with others through my photography. I was born and raised in Spokane but not as a member of the church. I am a very recent convert to the church. I never thought of myself as a religious person until I realized what i was missing in my life. Now that I have discovered the truth, It has changed my entire outlook on life and how it see it. I love music and art; anything with salt or chocolate is a must! I always spend too much time playing with my dog. My bucket list is longer than it should be, but one day i'll complete everything on it!

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you could say that i am of simple faith. Things don't need to be complicated. I remember the first time i went to church with an LDS family and how much love i had felt walking through those doors. That is an experience i will never forget and now I try everyday to make everyone i meet feel the same. I have been asked why i am such a "good" person, and the only explanation I can give them is that, "that's my religion. I believe in being a good person" I try to live every day of my life as an example to others around me; especially, my family. Being a recent convert to the church has created obstacles in my life and with my family. But I know that living the gospel and sharing it with them has been the greatest blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

Its not how I live my faith, but why. Everyday my family is watching me and my choices and its up to me and my faith to set the example. I know that if it weren't for this gospel, i wouldn't be the person that i am today. I love this gospel and every blessing that comes with it! I know that sharing the gospel with my family is the greatest gift that i could ever give them. I Love waking up everyday knowing that i have a constant companion by my side to help me through every trial that i face.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Cortney
It is a tradition for the men in the family to serve a mission and to have the honor and privilege to act in the name of our heavenly father. (matthew 28:19) For Women it's not as common to serve a mission, but it is a very noble and joyous thing to be able to do so. Members of the church consider it a great privilege to show their love for the lord by sharing the gospel. Show more Show less
