Hi I'm Cathy

I'm a wife and mother of four. I'm a Director in a direct sales business, so I'm a work from home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Fine Arts degree from Wright State University in Dayton, OH which is where I grew up. Although I don't do a lot of creating my own art these days, I still love to look at and appreciate art. I met my husband after I had been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 4 years and moved to Columbus, OH where he was getting his MIS degree at Ohio State. We have lived in Columbus ever since and are raising our family here, which includes 4 kids now. I have been building my direct sales business for over 18 years, so I work from home. I love being a wife and mother and I love reading books and listening to radio programs that teach me how to do it better. Sometimes all I learn, is that I have a whole lot more to learn. I like to run and work out to de-stress.

Why I am a Mormon

I haven't always been a Mormon. When I was little I went to Catholic church, then I started going to a non denominational church with my best friend , until I turned 16 and then I worked most Sundays. At 19 I felt a desire to go to church and wasn't sure which church to go to, so I began going to a different church every Sunday. A friend I had worked with once told me about her LDS church and I showed up to visit one day without even telling her first. I felt truly welcomed but more importantly I felt like the things that I learned there were answering questions I had about God and Jesus and the answers made a lot of sense to me. I studied and prayed about the church for several months, but honestly at that time in my life I felt like the changes I needed to make to join the church seemed too big. Over the next year or so, even though I hadn't joined the church I found myself reaching for the Book of Mormon or other study materials from the church whenever I felt sad or lonely. I decided to make the necessary changes in my life and get baptized when I was 21. It's hard to say when the "answer" came. I simply wanted to follow God and go where He wanted me to go. I didn't have one of the "lightening bolt" moments, but I have had many answers to prayers that I know are specifically from Him to me. Since I joined the church, I have also had many confirmations that tell me He loves me and is pleased with what I am doing and with where I am. I know I am a part of Jesus Christ's church which is restored to be just like His church He established when He lived on the Earth. I think it is natural to want to be with the ones you love forever and I am thankful that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is possible - we can be with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I love knowing that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me no matter what. He takes care of me and gives me what I need and what is good for me. I trust Him. I also love knowing I have Jesus Christ to be a perfect example to me of how to live my life. Knowing these truths helps me make better choices in my life. I feel great comfort in knowing Jesus Christ is my Savior and that my sins can be forgiven as I repent. How do I live my faith? Mainly I just want to do what Heavenly Father wants me to do. . . . so that is what I try to do. Thank goodness He lets me keep trying over and over again.
