Hi I'm Emily

I am devoted wife and mother of four daughters. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom with four active little girls and a sweet husband who takes care of all of us. I grew up in Arizona, then went away to college to get my bachelors in Humanities. Right after graduating, I received a call from a boy I knew in high school and 7 months later we were married. Soon after that we moved to Colorado for him to attend Veterinary school for four years. While he was in school, I worked for a magazine's Website up until our oldest child was 1 year old, when I quit to raise our daughter full time. Nine years later, we now live back in Arizona where he practices as a horse veterinarian and I'm a mom to now four daughers, ages 10 to 2. I run the household, or it runs me, I don't know. For me, being a mom is the toughest most demanding job I have ever had, but it is also the most fulfilling. I am so lucky to be able to stay home and take care of our girls. As a family, we like to camp, fish, snow ski and be with our extended family. I personally, love to read and discuss good books, participate in activities at church and be with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with parents who were both active members of the church. I grew up going to church every Sunday, in High School I attended seminary every school day and I even went to Brigham Young University, which is a church-owned school. While outwardly I was doing all the church asked of me, inwardly I was slowly, step by step, gaining my own personal testimony. I didn't have one magnificent experience that convinced me of the truth of the Gospel. I have had countless, consistent, personal experiences that have slowly cultivated my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many of those experiences came from trials or difficult times in my life that humbled me enough to hear the still, perfect whisperings of the Spirit. One time, as a teenager, I was at camping with my church leaders and other girls my age and we were all gathered together for a meeting. While we sang a hymn, a warm feeling filled my body and testified to me that what I was learning was truth. Another time I was in the hospital's emergency room with my 6 week old daughter and they didn't know why she had such a high fever. As my husband, said a prayer for her, I was filled with comfort that everything would be alright and that my Heavenly Father loved me and my daughter. I know my Heavenly Father knows me and loves me. I was with Him before I came to this earth. This earth life is only part of His great plan of happiness that he has provided for us. I know that Christ came to this earth, lived a perfect life, atoned for our sins and was resurrected on the third day. He did this to overcome death and sin, so we can live with Him and our families forever. I know the fullness of the gospel has been restored to the earth today through the prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that he truly saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, just as he said he did. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, my husband and I and our four girls attend our church meetings. I currently serve in our church as a leader over the 12 and 13 year old girls. I take turns with the other leaders teaching the girls during Sunday meeting and we meet together every Wednesday night for activities. For our activities, we give service, learn about the Gospel, build our friendships, set and work on goals and have fun together. I love working with these girls and hope that I bless their lives as much as they bless mine. I also serve as a visiting teacher. I have been assigned another woman in the ward to be my companion and together we go visit 2 other women in our ward. Once a month, we visit each of them in their home and share a prepared message from the church. Over the years, visiting teaching has allowed me to meet and build friendships and love for the most amazing women. I have been blessed by those I go visit and from the visiting teachers who come visit me. I know that it is a wonderful way for us to serve, love and take care of each other, as Christ wants us to do. The biggest opportunity I have to serve, teach and live my faith is in my own home. My children are just starting to gain and develop their own testimonies and they have many, many questions for me. Of course, they watch me very closely and I am trying to live my faith the best I can. I hope my actions express to them my testimony. Although they are being raised in a home that is active in the church, I know they each need to seek out and obtain their own personal knowledge of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I feel so blessed to be a part of helping them in their journey. I know that the Gospel can bless them throughout their life, if they choose to let it. Lastly, my husband and I try to attend the temple once a month. We were sealed in the temple on our wedding day and we love to go back to be taught and feel the sweet Spirit in temple. I know it is the Lord's holy house.
