Hi I'm Carley

I am the wife of a wonderful man, the mother of four boys and a girl, I love to daydream and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I met in Rome, Italy. It was definitely providential. We were both on our way home after serving in Italy as missionaries for the Church and our parents all happened to come over to pick us up and tour around Italy. We all met on the steps of the missionary office and after some idle conversation found some common ties. After that his mother started playing match maker and, although we resisted it at first, we are very grateful she did. We have been happily married for over 12 years. I enjoy being outdoors. My hobbies include running, camping, gardening, riding horses, and playing catch with my husband and kids. In fact, I would much rather mow the lawn and pull weeds than wash dishes. I also love to read. In our family room we have five large bookshelves full of all kinds of books...and no television. This is one of my favorite things about our home. Our kids are all fairly young and close in age and are very active. This keeps us busy and a little crazy. I studied Biology in college and plan on going to graduate school someday, but I enjoy being a stay-at-home mother and homemaker and would not trade this opportunity for anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family with deep roots in the Mormon faith. My ancestors came over from Europe and were among the pioneers that cross the country under extreme difficulties to settle in a place where they could worship according to their faith. I am grateful for this blessing. I am even more grateful for my own experiences that strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ and help me in my life. My faith is the result of many small experiences and feelings I have had throughout my life and continue to have daily. When I take the time to think about the good things that have happened to me and my family throughout the day, I see that God really does love me and is involved in my life. Even difficult situations, in time, have helped me see how much He cares about me and the He is guiding my family. He wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I currently help teach the young children, ages 18 months to three years, in our ward. During our class time we have a short lesson, sing songs, do activites, have free play time and snacks. I enjoy being in this class. I hope that it is helping to be a better mother and more like Jesus. I also have the chance to visit several ladies from our ward each month and share a gospel message with them. We call this "visiting teaching." Some of my closest friends have come from the opportuntiy to be involved in visiting teaching. This, I think, is the real purpose of visiting teaching.
