Hi I'm Tierra

I am a convert, a student, a daughter, a sister and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in small town Arizona with out a faith to call my own. My friends had tried to teach me about the LDS faith and been rejected time and time again, I didn't want anything to do with it until one day an idea came to my mind... "Maybe their faith is the one thing you are missing in your life." That idea was the Holy Spirit telling me that I needed to learn more. I then started taking the missionary discussions and reading the Book of Mormon. After fasting and prayer I knew that the things I was being taught were true! I fought a battle with my parents over being baptized, but, in the end, with the help of my loving Father in Heaven, came out on top and was baptized in May of 2011. I have never been happier! I am now living with my family who has come to terms with my decision and planning a wedding! I will be married in the Mesa Arizona Temple to the love of my life and can't wait to be with him for all eternity!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had the opportunity to know a life without the gospel of our savior Jesus Christ and a life with it. I have found true happiness and a sense of security that no one other than our Father in Heaven can provide for us. I have had the opportunity to learn about the gospel, ask Heavenly Father if what I had been taught was true or not and received an answer from the Holy Ghost. According to my missionaries and some friends, I was a prime investigator making progress. According to my family and some other friends, I was in the process of being brainwashed. And, according to me, I was simply following that happiness that kept me getting stronger and stronger. I followed my heart and the council of my Father in Heaven and have never been happier. The Lord softened the hearts of my family and encouraged me every step of the way. That is what happens when Christ becomes a reality in your life. You change...not because you're told to, but because, you want to. I know that I a member of the true church. I know that Christ died so that we may live. I know that when you dedicate your life to following the council of our Prophet that you will find happiness unlike any other. I know that although times may seem hard, when you put all you have into the Lords hands he will bless you. I know that we are not and never will be alone when we trust in Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith received the gold plates, translated them and sacrificed so much so that we would be able to have the restored truth. I know that President Monson is a true prophet today and receives revelation for all of us from our Heavenly Father so that we may better our lives. I know that families can be together forever. I know that when we ask the Lord what we should do we will get an answer from him. I love Christ, my Father in Heaven and my faith, and that, is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by trying my best to love and be an example to all I happen to come across-- Latter-day Saint or not. I attend church every single Sunday, I partake of the Sacrament and have the calling of teaching the children in my ward. Once a month I go visiting teaching so that myself and my teaching companion can share gospel messages with other sisters in out ward. Each and everyday I read my scriptures and pray to our Father in Heaven thanking him for all he has given me. I also listen to the messages given by our modern-day Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and his apostles from the General Conferences that have passed.
