Hi I'm Cameron

I'm an Estimator and Project Manager, I'm a Husband, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four siblings and an uncle to six nephews and four nieces. Spending time with my family is one of the things I enjoy most. One of the greatest experiences of my life and most memorable was when I served a two year mission for the church in the Philippines. Upon returning home I went to college and studied business. Now I work for my dad as an estimator and project manager at commercial roofing company. The greatest thing that ever happened to me was when I was married to my wife for all time and eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the church that God established through the Prophet Joseph Smith to contain the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ including all the principles and ordinances necessary for us to be able to return and live with Him after this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not only going to church on Sunday but I also have assignments within the church that I attend to on a weekly basis. For instance, I study and prepare lessons to teach to the youth. I attend church activities during the week. I attend and serve in the temple. I visit with members of the church in my area every month. I strive to keep the commandments and follow Christ’s example on a daily basis. It’s not easy and I am far from perfect but I know that I’m on the right path and I'm happy because of that.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints often associated with the term "Mormonism" was founded by Jesus Christ and established through His prophet Joseph Smith. It is the same church that Christ established on earth in the meridian of time that we read about in the New Testament but was later lost from the earth. Joseph Smith is a Prophet called of God just like the Prophets we read about in the bible. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph in 1820 and told him that through him The Church of Jesus Christ would be established again on earth for mankind. In the following years the Church was organized and was officially established in Fayette, New York on April 6th 1830. The term Mormonism comes from an ancient scripture called the Book of Mormon. Much like the bible the Book of Mormon is scripture written by prophets in ancient America. The last prophet to write in it was commanded by God to hide it away in the ground. Then after many years the Lord saw fit to bring this set of scripture forth from the ground to act as a second witness of Jesus Christ along with the Bible and to restore precious truths that had been lost over decades of time. It was the Prophet Joseph Smith who was commanded by the Lord to get the Book of Mormon and translate it into English. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and that is why often our religion is referred to as Mormonism.
