Hi I'm Blake

I grew up in Utah. I am working on an advanced degree in Mathematics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student working toward an advanced degree in Mathematics. I also love to play sports, including basketball, soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee. I love camping, fishing, hiking, and horse back riding.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have come to know that this church was organized under the direction of God and that He continues to lead this church through His living prophets. I gained this knowledge through studying the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ and by listening to and reading what the modern prophets say. I know from personal experience the happiness that comes to me from following the counsel they give. I find great solace in knowing that life has a greater purpose then what we see on the surface and that family relations can continue after death. Especially, I am grateful for the way my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped me come to know my Savior better and to follow His example more fully.

How I live my faith

I express my faith in Jesus Christ by reading daily from scriptures such as the Bible and Book of Mormon, and by serving others. There is no paid clergy in the church, so the members have the opportunity to serve and minister to each other. I assist the Branch President, whose position of service can be likened to a pastor, with administrative things which frees up more time for him to attend to the spiritual needs of the congregation. I feel by doing this I am helping the Lord bless the lives of His children.
