Hi I'm Joseph

I’m a sophomore in high school and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I run cross country and track for my school and I play basketball for recreation. My favorite food is either pizza or any kind of meat. I also play the trumpet on the school band. I play the piano at church, and for my own personal desires to play wonderful cool music. I’m not talking about church music but music that is simply fun to play. I love to read when time allows it, particularly fantasy books such as Ranger’s Apprentice and the Eragon series.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon when I was born and I have been going to church all my life with them. The reason I keep going to the Mormon Church is because I feel good whenever I’m involved with something related to this church or when I attend church meetings. I have never attend any other church and for that some might call me naïve but I truly can feel something different in the atmosphere and in my heart at church and around its people that I don’t feel anywhere else in my normal day to day life.

How I live my faith

I am a Teacher which is someone who holds the priesthood who is usually 14 or 15. In this church I help prepare the sacrament. I am also assigned to visit of members of our congregation, this is called home teaching. To better explain this, think of someone in your church who comes once a month to see how you and your family are doing and if you need any help. The reason for home teaching is for us to reach out to other members and help them and show them that we care. Earlier I mentioned the sacrament. Every Sunday before the meeting starts I come to church early to prepare the sacrament. I do this as another way to serve others in the church. The sacrament is one of the holiest ordinances in our church and to be a part of preparing it is a great opportunity for me to serve and to help the members partake of a holy ordinance.
