Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a music teacher, a gardener, a musician, an avid reader, a mom, a grandmother and a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother, an empty-nester, who enjoys reading, gardening, playing the piano and teaching piano lessons. I have been a military wife and spent twenty years moving between states and even spent two years in Germany. Now I am enjoying staying put, living out in the country with lots of sky, fields and trees. One of the great things about being a Mormon is that no matter where you live, there is a Church for you to be a part of - a real home away from home.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life, I had to come to a realization that its teachings were true. My own life experiences have shown me that there is a Father in Heaven who loves me and that His son, Jesus Christ died for me so that I could repent and change my life and eventually return to live with them. The things that I have been taught about being morally clean, not taking into my body harmful substances, and being honest and having integrity, have brought me true joy and have helped me and my family to avoid many of the sad situations that are found in the world. My children grew up knowing what was right and wrong and it made their teenage years much less traumatic because they knew what was expected and they had already decided what their standards would be. In our church we believe in the eternal nature of the family. Knowing that my family can be with me after this life gives me the greatest joy I can imagine. As I watch my children begin their own families now, I am not afraid for my grandchildren, because they are being taught those true gospel principles that will guide and protect them from the temptations of the world.

How I live my faith

My service experiences in the church have ranged from teaching teenagers and adults, to conducting choir and congregations, playing the organ and piano for worship services, arranging musical numbers, organizing activities and serving in leadership positions for various organizations. Each call to serve has helped me to learn and grow and has given me the opportunity to reach out to others and hopefully bring something good into their lives.
