Hi I'm Bekah

I am a returned missionary, I am studying public relations at BYU, and I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in Tucson Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church so it has been something I have always had. One thing that I love about this church is that everyone is given the chance to come to know of the truthfulness for themselves. I always assumed the gospel was true but had never really gained that strong testimony for myself whether it is true or not. There came a point in my life where I was struggling and really needed to find something to grab a hold of, and the gospel was there. I began to really test it for myself and gained an incredible knowledge that this is the true church of Christ restored on the earth again. There is nothing I have come to find that has more truth than this church. I know that if you test it for yourself, if you pray to know if this gospel is true, if you read the book of Mormon, the words of God, you will gain that burning testimony that it is true. I have felt so much comfort, joy, and peace through the knowledge that my Heavenly Father knows me personally and has a plan of happiness for me. I am so incredibly thankful to have this knowledge in my life and am so thankful to have the opportunity to share it with those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by striving to always be an example of Jesus Christ. After serving an LDS mission for 18 months, I have been able to see how much the Lord really does want to be a part of our daily lives, whether it is by helping us to grow and progress, or by using us to help someone else who may be struggling. There are always opportunities to lift our brethren and lift ourselves at the same time, we just need to be seeking them. These opportunities are the ones that really bring us the most joy in life. And who doesn't want to be joyful? (:

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

This is a question that people ask quite a bit. A lot of people are looking for a specific answer such as "because they contain caffeine" or "because they are addictive", but the real answer is, we do not drink coffee, tea, or alcohol, because our Heavenly Father has commanded it. We have been given our bodies as a gift from God, and while we control them, we are his children. He wants us to stay as healthy and happy as we can and gives us these commandments so that we can do just that. Sometimes we do not understand the commandments of God, but we must follow them, so that one day, we can be worthy to return to live with him and have eternal happiness for forever. And that eternal happiness will be so much better than the temporary "happiness" any substance could bring. Show more Show less
