Hi I'm David Hallmark

I have a personal witness of Jesus Christ. I work in construction. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent many years working in various construction fields. I enjoy building and creating with my hands. I am a talented carpenter (I think so). Around my mid-20's, I began to focus more on the various learned trades and invested all I could into the construction field. I have had many hobbies and interests that have varied or come and gone. I like being in the outdoors. I have enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, backpacking and mountaineering. I enjoy reading, board games, visiting with family and friends. Through my lifetime, I have lived in many places, all over the United States. I spent a short while in Asia. I have traveled to South America, Canada, around areas of Asia. I am a hard worker. I like to volunteer and help those in need, or to make someones day better. I appreciate time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I was an active member until my family lost it's unity and love for one another. When the family failed, I left home as a teenager with a weak testimony. I chose the path of the world for many years.. What I was taught and believed stayed dormant for a long time. Life's challenges and trials began to show me there was a God. Nearing my 30's, I wanted to know what was true and how to find out for myself. I went to an LDS church building and asked some missionaries how I could really know. They told me how to get the answers I was hoping to find. When I honestly prayed, asking the Savior if the Book of Mormon was true, He answered me. He then directed me to where I need to be through those missionaries that helped me. The answer that was given, gave me hope and life again. I now know that I belong to His church. I am a son of God. He loves me and guides me. Life has all its trials and hardships still, I am far from perfect. I have struggled with my personal difficulties. I know these weaknesses and problems will become strengths as I am faithful. The Savior reached out and called me home.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings on Sunday and a few through out the week. I enjoy going to Institute classes, to learn more from the scriptures. I attend a night class on the Old Testament. I have been developing a good personal reading practices of the Book of Mormon and the standard works. I also find a lot of help and support from the Ensign, LDS.org and all the of the General Conference messages. I watch the Mormon messages the church releases on the internet. I find so much of my life questions and concerns or doubts answered with direction and guidance from reading that amazing book. I have made many changes in my life to live my faith. I am not afraid or ashamed to tell you that I have gone to recovery meetings and worked on healing from habits I developed over periods my life. I has been over a year, now, living the healthy standard. I am most happy helping with service projects and helping my fellow man. It is line upon line, precept upon precept that has helped me make those steps and I look forward to strengthening my testimony and faith.
