Hi I'm Marissa

I grew up in Arizona. Love my family and friends and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently working for a oral surgeons office and love it! I enjoy baking, especially sweet treats and am currently learning how to cook. I also enjoy sports either watching or playing. I also enjoy wakeboarding and snowboarding. I am currently expecting our first child. I'm very excited to be a mom and can't wait for that next chapter in my life to begin. I also enjoy reading and am known to get a bit caught up in a book from time to time, but I love reading about adventures and others lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that it is true. I have had times in my life when I struggled to understand where I fit in, in the great plan of life. The gospel has given me something that no one or nothing else could answer for me: where I came from, who I am today and where I will be going in the future. I know that Jesus lived and I have that understanding and knowledge because I have sought that question out. I have received the answer that Christ does live and that he loves each and every one of us. That was the first answer to a prayer that I have received in my life and I know that it is true. That first simple answer to a prayer has guided me to the person that I am today. The decisions in my life have also been guided by that answer. I decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true and because I asked I now know that it is true. It is so simple when all you have to do is just ask, without hesitation and with the yearning to know if it is true or not. I truly came to understand what my answer to that question meant when I was ready to live as Christ would have me live and to follow his guidance and example. I am not perfect, but I strive everyday to be a better me. I have been so blessed to find a loving and respectful husband who helps me to achieve more and reach for the stars.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my life through my actions. I try to give back to the community around me including members of my own church and those who are not members of our church. Sometimes that simply means smiling at those that are at the grocery store or those that I come in contact with, but I try to make a difference in the lives around me. In our church I work with the 12-18 year old girls. I thoroughly enjoy that opportunity to hear about their struggles and challenges and try to help. The world has become a rough place and if I can make it even a bit brighter than I would think that I have accomplished something in my time here on earth. I also live my faith in the decisions that I make it my everyday life. I have chosen to follow the guidance of not participating in certain events or actions and by so doing I have seen the blessings multiply in my life.
