Hi I'm Sally

I'm a singer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing! From the time I was little, maybe one or two years old, I would make up songs and sing them at the top of my lungs. Since then, though I still make up my own songs sometimes, I love to sing songs that are beautiful and passionate, but that bring peace to me and those that hear. Two examples of those are Rob Gardner's Arrangement of "Savior, Redeemer of My Soul," and Alan Menken's "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas. Now, I am majoring in Voice at my local community college. It's wonderful to learn the science behind what I dearly love. Ever since I lived in Europe as a young girl, I have been in love with languages! I hope someday to be so good at so many different languages that I can be someone's right hand translator as they do their work (ideally humanitarian work) around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and from birth, we have read the Book of Mormon daily. This, and attending church and keeping the commandments God which He has given through His prophets, both ancient and modern, has caused a great peace and love to stay in our home. We are happy. I am happy. Now that I am older, and in college, my parents do not dictate so much of what I do, but I still study the scriptures and pray daily because I know that these two things help me to avoid temptation to do wrong. So why am I a mormon instead of any other religion? Because I believe in the Holy Spirit of God Who was given to be my constant Companion at Baptism, and He has told me that the Book of Mormon is a true book, and if that is true, then all that goes with it, Joseph Smith the Prophet, the Restoration of God's Priesthood Power, and the vital sealing of families for eternity must all be true. If the Bookof Mormon were false, then all else that is unique to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints would be false as well. But as is promised within it's pages, I have asked God if the Book of Mormon is true, and through the testimony of The Holy Ghost, or the Spirit of God, I know that it is true. The same promise is given to anyone who reads the book- if they ask God of its truthfulness, He, through His Spirit, will answer them. I challenge anyone to test this.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being willing to jump up and go if the Lord calls. In order to keep my heart and ears open to His desires for my life, I read the Holy Scriptures daily, and pray to Him for help and for guidance. This daily practice also helps me remember the covenants I have made with my Father in Heaven in this life, and before my birth. Currently, I am a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Ukraine. My loving, Heavenly Father sent a message to me through His Spirit to leave all the was familiar and promising, and trust in Him enough to serve in the unknown. because of this, He has richly blessed me and has begun to open my heart to trusting in Him more fully. All will have this same converting experience, if they will just try. Read the Scriptures, study, pray, serve, and trust in God.
