Hi I'm Isaac

I spend my weekends remodeling my home. I'm an aspiring entrepenuer and outdoor enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad taught me from a young age to love work. I grew up milking cows, mowing lawns, and helping on home improvement projects. Two years ago I married my beautful wife, and we have been blessed with an adorable baby girl. I never knew that it could be so entertaining to watch your baby do practically nothing for hours :) Through lots of hard work we have gone from cement floors to a lovely home, and yet still a work in progress. My amatuer handyman skills include: painting walls, laying wood flooring, tile, plumbing, replacing windows etc. I love the outdoors. Rock climbing, hiking, fishing, shooting, and kayaking are some of our favorite family activities. I love sports, and have tried to conquor my fears by taking up some more extreme sports. Rock climbing was a big one, I'm afraid of heights. Recently I was scuba certified, but have yet to dive anywhere besides an Arizona lake. Saying all this... 75% of my weekends are consumed by home projects leaving limited time for these activities. I work for JP Morgan Chase selling merchant services, saving money to go back to school for a Masters degree. My ultimate goal is to work for myself and run a succesful business.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me from the time I was a small child that I had a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who watch over and care for me. But we all face the moment in our lives where we have to find out for ourselves if what we have been taught is true. I prayed, and felt a peaceful spirit fill my soul and witness to me that there is a plan for me. That my Heavenly Father sent His Son to die for me so that I can return to live with Him again. So many people are lost and confused in the world today, searching for answers as to the meaning and purpose of our lives. I'm a Mormon because through his living prophets our Heavenly Father has answered these questions and giving me direction in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith and life by what brings me joy. There a many things that might be more fun, but is fleeting and leaves one feeling empty. With my wife, we hold daily family prayer and do weekly family nights. These include games or a movie, and a spiritual lesson or reminder of things to improve on. Every Tuesday evening I spend a few hours visiting the homes of members of my congregation. Sometimes it is to welcome new neighbors to the community, offer service, or simply lift up those that struggle. I'm respondsible for one of the mens' classes on Sunday. I help plan the meetings, organize the lessons, and even teach occacionally. Living a life of faith to me involves more than the set structure of a church. It branches out to the everyday interactions with coworkers, the smile to a stranger at the grocery store, and the small acts of kindness that can make someone elses day.
