Hi I'm Ken

I am a teacher, I love American football, basketball, and above all my wife and children, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Healdsburg California but moved with my family when I was 8 years old to Orem Utah, where we lived for a year. We moved to Price Utah when I was going into the 4th grade. I lived in Price for the remainder of my growing up years. I was born into the church to parents who had very strong faith in the church. I was the youngest of 5 children. Dad was a Bishop in the church and a Stake President. My family was very influential in the community, I grew up thinking I was a big deal. That attitude lead me to many choices that were against the teachings of my faith. I was very close to my friends, they became more important than anything else. My prideful attitude along with the influence of my friends set up the perfect storm. I hurt many people by my choices including my parents and my faith. I made the choice to serve a mission in 1980. I explained everything I had done to my priesthood leaders and they allowed me to serve. Something happened in the first month of my mission. I went through some very intense pain in my soul. The reality of my past choices settled upon me, but something else happened, I came to understand the Savior in a very personal way. I grew to love him like I had never loved anything before. He forgave me and cleansed me over time. For two years I gave my heart mind and soul to the work of helping others come to know Him. I have spent the last 22 years teaching young people of his message. I love him and know he is what he claims to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how this faith has helped me to come to know the Savior. I love this church because of what it does for my family. I love this church because of how it helps me to be a better husband and father. I love this church because it is true.

How I live my faith

I try to read the scriptures every day. I want to know how the Savior and his prophets would handle situations, what they taught, what they believe. I go to church every Sunday because I love learning about my faith, and I also love the people that are there. I try and obey the teachings of the church by serving others any chance I get. I go to the temple almost every week. I love it there, I believe I am performing service for people who need this done. I don't claim to understand all the reasons why for this particular work but I sure love how I feel when I am there. I try to live my religion by saying I am sorry to my wife when I do or say things that the Savior wouldn't want me to do or say. I try to forgive people who do stupid things. I will be trying all my life even though I will fall short every day I know the Savior is pleased when I try very hard.
