Hi I'm Chris O'Neill

I was born and raised in California. I love playing basketball and I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play basketball. I've been playing my whole my life. I got to play in Costa Rica for a little awhile and I really enjoyed it, so I hope to end up playing somewhere around the world. I love having a big family. I have 3 older brothers, 1 younger brother and 2 younger sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has always been the most important thing in my life and the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my family in so many ways. This gospel has strengthed us and brought us closer together and closer to Jesus Christ. The thing I love most about this Gospel is that is encourages everyone to develop a personal relationship with their Father in Heaven and find out for themselves whether or not the gospel is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about for myself and I know that this gospel is true with all my heart. I know that there is a living prophet of God on the Earth today that leads and directs Jesus Christ's true church. I'm so thankful for the Plan of Salvation which God has given to us, which gives us the path to live with our Father in Heaven and with our families forever.

How I live my faith

I attend church every sunday. I'm currently serving a mission in Russia. I'm sharing this message of hope with the people there, so that they can have the opportunity to find that same joy and happiness, as I have found in this message.

What is faith?

Chris O'Neill
Faith is hoping for something that you can't see at the moment. Faith leads to action. It's not just something that your mind thinks and you tell yourself that you believe it. If you have a dream to play college basketball, you first have to have hope that you can play there. That hope, or faith, will motivate you to practice, in other words, act on your faith. As you practice, you get better and better and you start to see more and more how it's actually possible for you to play in college, until one day, you're playing on the court with that college team, and that "faith" turns into a perfect knowledge. This is like having faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. It starts out with hope and hoping that you can one day return to live with Them and with your family forever. Like in basketball how it takes taking shots everyday, lifting weights, running and alot of practice in order to reach that hope of making it to the college level, there are things required for you to do in order to make that hope of eternal life become a reality. We must act in faith by keeping the commandments, reading the scriptures and praying to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ daily. Just as in basketball, as you show your faith and "practice", you will see more and more how Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father do live and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the map back to our Father in Heaven and to live with our families for eternity.
